Hi all, will be installing this text piece in the library today...I plan on put it top of the pink non-fiction stacks, but we'll see how they go, I HOPE they stand up properly, big issue, if not they will go somewhere else... These are extracts from Gertrude Stein's 'How to Write'.
This is better than stirred. She does not like to put it there.
Why do they apply this to that.
A sentence is a paragraph.
A noun is hour by hour. A verb is ever a whatever.
Listen to the portrait.
A sentence may be alike.
A sentence is why they find it.
A sentence can retell that they wished they were strangers.
A sentence is inquiry. Lament a sentence.
What is it that is being asked. Out of out aloud.
This is a plan. It is very easy to be through with whether they do.
A noun is made by stretches.
The sentences were chosen randomly. And this piece has been made by stretching me big time!! 44 letter 't's had to be cut out, and thats just the beginning, and sprayed bright pink with a spray can emptying real quick and a blister on my spraying finger...!! yeikes...I dont know why I do it some times...Oh I remember now, because I love doing it...
So this piece is just playing with text,. Text that plays with how text and grammar and meaning work...I'm interested to see how you all respond...see you in the library.
The art work showes a great artistic streak and Ilook foward to seeing more of this kind of artwork.
